Sensa is a a new brand in the field of premium food products covering an impressive range of different foods from frozen vegetables and packaged sliced cheese, to meat and canned mushrooms. We based our approach on the idea of macro photography, realizing that the essence of a premium Sensa product lies deep into each food, into those particular “molecules” that the eye hardly perceives but become apparent when we smell or taste them. The microcosmos is what connects the rest of our senses with what the eye seems.
Sensa’s logotype followed the same principles. We iconified our five senses, sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste in a modern almost instant-chat fashion, very close to the iconography we use in our everyday communications. Positioning a strong red logotype as this always at the same position on each packaging solution provides an instantly recognizable typology. The logotype is further supported by a custom font, which although cryptic in the beginning, exactly as the micro photographs that dress the whole concept, soon becomes very readable.
